9 AM – 4 PM
Grace Springs Farm, Kulnura 2250
Tickets · $190
Farming a small acreage can be productive & incredibly rewarding.
Here at Grace Springs Farm we are currently producing dairy, beef, chicken eggs, duck eggs, chicken meat, duck meat, honey, fruit & vegetables . We do it all without the use of chemicals, with very limited machinery & using low cost infrastructure.
If you would like to learn more about running a small farm, using low cost infrastructure, looking after animals & producing your own food then you will love this workshop. What you learn in this workshop can be applied to your own land, or to rented land - as everything we use is portable.
Our farm has also been set up to be run by Virginia, a female farmer - so these systems can work for everyone.
You will also hear key insights from Tony on transitioning from corporate IT work to farm life.
Everything we do here on the farm can be scaled down for backyard farmers and scaled up for those wanting to produce food for their community. And everything covered on the day is perfect for those wanting to run a 'homestead'.
We use electric netting fencing across our farm & we will be hands on using the fencing during the workshop.
We will cover running poultry (ducks, chooks for eggs & chooks for meat), dairy cows, beef cattle, beekeeping, market gardening & essential farm infrastructure. We will share our highs and lows and are very honest and transparent about farm life.
It is fantastic if you are a couple to come together. There will be lots to talk about after the workshop and hopefully it will enable you to both get onto the same page.
The workshop will commence at 9am & will include morning tea and a long table lunch.
Workshop notes will be provided. Closed in footwear is essential.
Tickets are $190 per person or $340 per couple*
