POSTPONED DUE TO FIRES
10AM to 12PM
Little Valley Farm, Hunter Valley
Come join us on the Hunter Valleys most beautiful Alpaca Farm.
As a breeding farm it is only open a few times a year and this November will be the first to welcome children of all ages.
Little Valley Farm is a AAA registered breeder of Huacaya and Suri Alpacas with between 20 and 40 Alpaca on the farm at any one time.
Set on 50 lush acres (in the good times!) in a natural amphitheatre surrounded by an abundance of native birds and animals.
The breeding program ensures the babies, or cria, are between 3 and 6 months at this time of year.
Our Alpaca are regularly handled and friendly (they may or may not sit with you, they decide). The session will allow you time to get to know them. The more you relax the more they want to be with you.
Our host Daniela will talk to you about Alpaca facts about including:
* their funny habits and behaviour,
* alpaca health,
* best shed layouts for shearing and small pens,
* appropriate shade,
* best feed, grass and paddocks,
* nail trimming, grooming, shearing and vaccinations
* alpaca fleece, spinning and knitting.
This day is suitable for people for potential buyers but also lovers of these amazing animals.
Tea and Coffee will be available on the 'Red Rattler' train deck, where you can relax and watch the Alpaca graze.
While in the Wollombi Valley be sure to discover some our iconic destinations including GNTP (Great Northern Trading Post, Laguna), travel down the Central Coast Plateau Harvest Trail.
