Make sure you regularly check what's on the web-based feedback sites like Tripadvisor.

It's easy to get distracted and bogged down in the day-to-day grind of running your business.  But spare a moment and thought for what the general public think about what you do and how you do it.

Consumer feedback sites like Tripadvisor record and store your visitor experiences and comments, so take a moment to check if there's anything you should know about your business that your customers haven't told you directly - it can be quite revealing!

Hopefully most of the comments will be flattering and encourage others to make the effort to try you out, but take more heed of the negative comments because they are your signal for continuing improvement.

Don't forget the old marketing adage - happy customers might tell someone they care about how much they enjoyed what you do, but unhappy customers are on a mission to tell the world that you let them down!
